Car Projects in Progress

Clifford's 1954 Packard Convertible project (22 June 2008)

In primer and ready for the base coat

Interior of the body has been painted

Applying the undercoat

Installing the Olds engine

Engine and tranny installed

And the doors go back on..

The fenders are mounted

Looks good and straight

It's a perfect fit according to Clifford!

...and the golden motivation got a roof ...the hood!

The Packard in its final colors (June 08)

Andre Blaauw: Ford Mustang Coupe 1968 (WABI-29) Project in April 2008

Ford Mustang Coupe 1968. Originally sold to Curacao and still has its original export tags

This car had been repainted to this blue color when Andre bought it in 2007

The car was dismanteled, overhauled, rust repaired and then sprayed in its original color, Royal Maroone

Look Ma, no wheels!

Andre is now busy assembling the Stang and plans to be riding it in June 08. We cannot wait to see the result!

Andre Blaauw: Ford Mustang Coupe 1969 Project in April 2008

This is Andre's second project.

Like all projects, looks hopeless to start with

Also this car is a real Yu Korsow! Sold new in Curacao 1969. That makes the restoration even nicer!

But, after some cleaning, dismanteling, rust repair and primer, it is easier to imagine the end result

Vrooom! Those American Racing TorqueThrust II wheels looks great!

Bo's 1972 Camaro RS rebuild to SS streetracer (updated 26 May 08)

On a Swedish spring lawn...

But what is that Aruba tag doing there...?

This a pretty good looking car, but still it has 1972 technology, and I want something better.

There is some slight rust starting to show after 30 years since I painted it last time, so I need to do something.

My opinion is that these wheels have too little rubber to look good. Therefore, I will use the rear tires up front and I buy bigger ones for the rear.

American Racing TorqThrust II 17 inch . Will be 295x40 rear and 245x45 front

The container with stuff has arrived from USA. Let's party!

New S/S 3 inch exhaust in one of these boxes. Should be OK, I guess?

A new Fatman front sub frame with rack and pinion power steering

Used 2002 Camaro LS1 engine 40k miles. Hopefully OK

Fitting the engine and placing the trans cross member on the right spot. I bought adapters from BRP since the frame was designed for a standard 350cui

Time to start separating the old front frame stub from the body. Hood off

Drive shaft disconnected, fuel line cut and exhaust disconnected from engine

Brake fluid drained from master cylinder. This will all be replaced by new stuff

Fenders off, steering shaft disconnected, cabling plug out

This is all what is needed to separate the front from the body. Everything stays on, just place small roller under the tranny and go!

The new polished S/S A-arms from Fatman with 2" lowered spindels

I will replace the old big spoiler with the small model. That makes the two tone color scheme easier

WABI-35 on the lift

Nice coilovers

Test fitting the wheel. A 17" wheel is needed to accomodate the Wilwood brakes

This is what you pay for (The sign 6-piston, I mean!)

Drilled and slotted rotors

I think I can stand this sight for a couple of years....

And here is the LS1, separated from the 4L60E transmission, ready to be cleaned and painted

The leftovers (the body) is on the lift and ready to get a new rear suspension (May 26)

Other projects:

1956 Packard Caribbean HT and 1967 Plymouth Fury III HT

Porsche Spyder, Packard DeLuxe Touring Sedan and a pile of fenders, almost like new, but unfortunately crushed by now!!

1954 Packard Convertible Coupe, 1956 Buick Special 4dr and Kamel's 19958 Buick Super 4-door HT
